Sweet Remi was at the perfect time to have a sitter portrait session. She is 8 months old and sitting independently, but not quite crawling/walking. This means we could set her in a spot and she could play, grab her feet, and I could document every part of her. I always have some neutral toys on hand for baby portrait sessions and bring them out when the baby needs a distraction, or something to bring a smile.

When you come to my home studio you’ll come inside, up the stairs. We will get you and/or your little one settled. For milestones and one year portraits I almost always start with the baby being undressed. I’ll have different sets prepared, but the first is always white and minimalistic with the occasional wooden toy. You’ll be able to stay as close to baby as possible during the session. It can sometimes take a little time for a baby or child to feel relaxed and comfortable in the space, so don’t be nervous if they get fussy or clingy at first. I have different toys ready for them, fun music, and things like bubbles to help them relax. The best thing you can do during the session is to stay relaxed and remember we will get the shots you are looking for- they just need a little time to adjust.

The amount we can do always depends on the baby, but if they are content and enjoying themselves we will get as much variety as possible. The first one will always be a white/neutral look. If you have options that you want to put baby in, let me know ahead of time so I make sure the set will compliment it well.

I love a neutral vibe because it makes baby the complete focus, BUT I love to do simple and sweet set ups that compliment the baby. This session was in the month of February, so we did a Valentines look.

My studio has a white minimalistic vibe with a hint of boho. The boho element incorporates a lot of texture which photographs beautifully.

Once your session is complete I will post a sneak peek within a couple days (as long as the media release is signed) and will complete all the edits within 3 weeks. Once you receive your gallery you’ll choose your favorites and inform me when final. After that, I send you the downloadable images. You can purchase prints at my print shop or a photo lab of your choice.
